the annual ‘best of’ cd swap.

on Friday, I hosted the annual ‘best of’ mix cd exchange party. it’s a thing that friends and i started in 2005 or so, and the second one in Toronto. essentially, you throw your favourite 2009 tunes on a disc and make/decorate a bunch of copies, that you bring to the party to trade for other people’s mixes.

this year there were 32 cd’s that entered the swap, which qualifies as an all-time high. the party then continued into the night, where everyone threw down, and some of us threw up.

anyhow – I’m not sure if anyone really took photos (shame) except for a couple at the beginning of the night from anna (including the one above). but I DID post my best of 2009 mix for download on the previous post, and now i’m going to post a whole bunch of friends’. here they are, in order of submission.

Andrew Mowbray (aka ampm residing in London, UK)
James Windsor
Anna Wiesen
Craig Rowe
Dave Lock
Jeff Hayward
Kris Richards
Adam Mick
Danielle O’Hanley
Sean Corcoran
Matt Tammaro
Melody Lamb
John MacKenzie
Sari Delmar
Claudia Tavernese
Jordan Simpson
Lauren Schreiber

When you grab them, please note that iTunes won’t automatically put them in order. the .zip file should contain the playlist as well. if it’s an XML file, just go to iTunes: file>library>import playlist once you’ve loaded all the songs into iTunes, and it’ll do the rest for you. if it’s a text file, you’ll have to rearrange manually. but still, it’s worth it.

there’ll inevitably be more to come. my friends are just slow.
